Custom industrial decals
As an industrial labels manufacturer, Touch Panels can provide you with high quality, custom industrial stickers and custom labels. Screen printed industrial grade stickers are permanent labels, best used as heavy duty stickers for equipment.
In addition to screen printed items, we can also provide custom stickers that are digitally printed. These products are still industrial strength stickers, but produced using a different production process.
Industrial adhesive labels
Industrial sticker printing provides sub-surface text and graphics on a thin film of textured polyester or polycarbonate, providing a wipe clean surface that is resistant to many chemicals and cleaning agents. Printed details are then viewed through the material, which protects them from most forms of accidental damage and scratches.
A permanent acrylic adhesive backing is applied to the label to enable it to adhere to your product. While this adhesive will give a strong and secure bond to the majority of surfaces, we can provide higher specification adhesives for low energy surfaces if required.
Custom industrial adhesive labels have profiles cut using a die cutting process on our platen press, or with our laser cutter for prototypes and smaller volume productions. Complex shapes can also be accommodated with laser cutting that cannot be achieved with die cutting.
Digital custom decals
Custom adhesive decals have text and graphics that are surface printed digitally onto very thin, coloured polyester using our Gerber Edge thermal printer. Printed details are fused with the surface of the material using heat and pressure. They are scratch resistant, however we can apply a clear over laminate to provide additional protection if required.
We recommend the over laminate for all outdoor stickers for equipment, as it provides long lasting UV protection to preserve colours and prevent yellowing or cracking of the polyester. It also means that they are waterproof stickers.
The label stock has a permanent adhesive backing which is suitable for most applications. There are material options with higher specification adhesive if required.
Profiles are cut using our high speed Gerber Envision plotter and can include complex shapes. Finished digital print labels are provided on a roll of silicone release paper for easy removal.
These digitally printed items are much cheaper to manufacture than similar screen printed items, and tend to be produced at a lower resolution. Digital labels are ideal for simple, high volume items such as logo labels, machine serial number plates, part number labels, and many other products.
Digital labels can be produced with changing serial numbers or references using our Brady thermal printer, with very low set-up costs and they do not require any print filmwork.
Custom vinyl decals
Custom vinyl decals can be used for a variety of applications, but are most commonly seen as warning decals. These can be standard health and safety notices, or bespoke signs made to fit a specific requirement.
Custom adhesive vinyl decals are printed digitally using our Gerber Edge thermal printer. Graphics and text are surface printed onto thin, adhesive backed vinyl films. These films are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, including metallic and reflective, and even a magnetic substrate.
Custom vinyl stickers are then cut to the correct profile using our Gerber Envision plotter, which can accommodate complex shapes and edge patterns if required. All labels are supplied on a roll of silicone backing paper, for simple removal and application when needed.
Vinyl stickers are ready to be used outdoors direct from the printer, with an expected life of up to 3 years, depending upon the exact mix of
materials and colours used. We recommend that outdoor vinyl decals are covered with an over laminate, protecting them from UV and scratch
damage, extending their life up to 10 years.
